about

Pop-Up Mountain is a young bilingual theatre collective based in Graubünden and Zurich.
Asa Hendry (text & performance), Rosanna Rotach (scenography & performance) and Leander Albin (sound & music) form a group that moves between languages, landscapes, and aesthetics.

Their work unfolds between lecture performance, soundscape, and embodied storytelling. After Crappa Morta (Festival Uniun Travers Zuoz, Postremise Chur, 2023) – a Romansh piece exploring landscape and identity – came Car Guys Gay Trucks and Oil (Frankfurt LAB, 2024), a shimmering study of masculinities between motor, oil and myth.

Pop-Up Mountain may be new to professionalisation, but not to collaborative artistic thinking. Each production chooses its language consciously – Romansh, English or Swiss German – as a statement within the Swiss theatre landscape. Which language is heard on stage, and how does it change the act of listening?

Between bodywork and lighting design, Pop-Up Mountain seeks moments of politically correct ecstasy – where content and form align, and friction becomes resonance.
